Shopify stores the current state of your store and nothing else. There is no version history for a product, no undo for a bulk edit, and no way to bring back a deleted collection.
Merchants are connecting AI tools to their store and asking them to rewrite descriptions, retag products and reorganise collections. When the instruction is understood differently than it was meant, the change is applied to every product at once and there is nothing to roll back to.
A product import with one wrong column can blank descriptions or strip images across hundreds of products. The usual repair is uploading the images again by hand, one product at a time.
Apps you install hold write access to products, collections and themes. When two of them disagree, the damage looks exactly like your own mistake and arrives without warning.
Shopify lets you export a CSV file of your products. That file is useful, and it is not the same thing as being able to put your store back.

A CSV export also has to exist before the accident. Storeundo runs every day whether or not you remembered.
You approve the app from the Shopify admin. There is nothing to host, no server to run and no API key to copy anywhere.
The first backup reads your whole catalogue, your themes and your articles. After that only what changed is fetched, so a large store finishes quickly.
Pick a date and choose one product, a collection, a theme or everything. Storeundo writes it back into your store through Shopify's own interface, so you keep working where you already work.
This is a deliberate choice, and it is worth understanding before you compare us with anyone else.
Storeundo requests access to products, collections, images, themes, pages, menus, metafields and articles. It does not request access to orders, customers, addresses or checkouts, so your buyers' personal data is never copied out of Shopify by us.

Shopify keeps your store running and recovers its own platform from its own failures. It does not keep a version history of your products, and it will not undo a change you or an app made. Shopify's own guidance is that merchants are responsible for keeping their own store backups.
It depends on what you would need back. A product CSV does not contain your themes, your collections, your blog articles or your image files, and putting a CSV back is a re-import you have to get right under pressure.
